Private charters

Before you fly

Itinerary

Once you have confirmed your flight we will e-mail you a full itinerary including details of your aircraft, route, timings, flight crew, and airport handling agents.

Passenger changes

Passenger details can be amended right up until the flight departure day. All you need to do is contact Air Charter and we will make all necessary changes. Additional passengers can be accommodated depending on the size of the aircraft. Please note this may incur additional charges.

Flight changes

Should you wish to make any amendments to your flight times, all you have to do is let us know. Flying by private jet is all about flexibility. The more time you give us the better, so we can arrange new slot times with the airports and Air Traffic Control.

Passport details

Passport details of all travelling passengers should be provided when the flight is confirmed.  At the latest we would require all passport details at least 24 hours prior to departure.

Payment

Payment can be made by bank transfer or debit/credit card.

Cancellation

Cancellation policies vary between aircraft operators. Details are provided in the Terms and Conditions within the charter agreement we send to you when you book.

Safety

All charter operators are fully insured and flown to industry and public transport (airline) standards.

Flight standards of all operators are constantly and rigorously checked to ensure peace of mind and the security and safety of you and your guests. Passenger safety and well being coupled with strict adherence to regulations are our number one priority at all times.

Luggage

This depends on the size of your private jet and the number of travelling passengers. Smaller jets usually have a baggage limit of one bag per passenger. Larger jets usually have a good size luggage hold to carry large suitcases.

Catering

VIP catering is provided on all flights and based on the time of day and duration of flight. Typically this will include a pre prepared buffet style menu. For larger private jets with a galley gourmet hot meals can be prepared and served on board.  Most flights also include a complimentary bar and soft drinks. Should you require anything specific, we would be delighted to arrange this for you. All you need to do is discuss this with us when you book.

Wheelchair access

All aircraft are accessible for wheelchair users. Should you require any such assistance please let us know and we will make all necessary arrangements.

Firearms

Firearms are permitted on most aircraft, subject to operator approval. We do require prior notification, and firearm licences must be provided and carried together with any firearms. Additional permits and customs notifications may be required before departure.

Pets

Pets are usually allowed on private charters depending on owners’ approval. Pets travelling on a valid pet passport are permitted to travel from some UK airport. There are, however, restrictions on entering the UK with pets; they must fly on a DEFRA approved carrier and to a DEFRA approved airport. We would always recommend contacting Air Charter for advice when travelling with pets.

Private Charter FAQs

Before you fly

Can I see actual photos of the aircraft I will be flying on?

Yes. When we provide you with a quote we always offer a choice of aircraft which includes external and internal images of your aircraft.

What happens if my aircraft incurs a technical issue?

If the aircraft you booked has a technical issue and cannot fly Air Charter will do everything we can to find an alternative. Because we are in regular contact with the operator throughout the process right up until departure, if there are any issues with the aircraft we are informed immediately which usually provides us with enough time to source an alternative.  In the unlikely event this is not possible you will be offered a full refund.

At the airport

Where to go once at the airport

Before your flight Air Charter will walk you through all the details you need to know before boarding your private jet.  Most airports have a dedicated private jet terminal or purpose built facilities called FBO’s (Fixed Based Operators) where passengers travelling by private jet can check in. Private jet terminals and FBO’s usually have very comfortable lounges for you to relax or work in before take off. If you require transfers to or from the airport please let us know and we will be more than happy to make all necessary arrangements.

How long before my flight do I need to check in?

We would usually recommend passengers arrive at check in 20-30 minutes before your expected departure time.

Do I need my passport when flying by private jet?

There are some instances where you do not have to show your passport, however we always recommend that you travel with a passport, even for domestic flights.

Do I go through customs and immigration when travelling by private jet?

You will still have to clear customs and immigration when travelling by private jet, however as it usually takes place in the private jet terminal (or FBO) the process is usually very quick and hassle free.

Group charter FAQ’s

If I am booking a flight for a group charter, how do I know which aircraft is best?

Based on your specific criteria we will offer a choice of the most appropriate available aircraft. We will then talk you through the options and discuss the specific requirements of your trip and make sure you get exactly what you need.  If you don’t have specific requirements don’t worry, when you speak to us we will offer expert advice and recommendations for you to take back to your client.

Even though Air Charter is based in the UK can you help me charter an aircraft somewhere else in the world?

Of course. We have relationships with many overseas operators and regularly charter for clients all over the globe.

What is the smallest group you can charter for? What is the largest?

We have provided charters for one person using a Cessna Citation Mustang.  The largest charter we have organised was for 16 000 passengers using a number of different aircraft from a number of different operators.

Helicopter Charters

Can I also book helicopters with Air Charter?

Yes you can, we’d be delighted to help.
