How Air Charter saved a Premier League football team from nearly missing their game.

It is not unusual that some of the teams we fly, occasionally decide to take alternative means of transport to get to their fixtures, other than their usual charter flight. On this occasion the team decided to catch the train from London for their fixture in the north west.

Following a training session the team departed from their training ground and upon entering London were informed that all trains operating the route required had been suspended until further notice. With alternative travel arrangements limited Air Charter Travel received the call that they were in trouble and needed help.

The challenge was on and with time against us it required all our experience and expertise to find a solution! We directed the coach to head out of London towards the north east perimeter of the M25, allowing for a possible departure from Luton, Stansted or Southend, being airports that could possibly offer the most immediate departure. Within 20 minutes we had found an aircraft able to operate the flight and negotiated terms with the operator, along with the special handling arrangements required around the team’s departure from London and arrival at their destination. We remained in constant contact with the team offering reassurance and progress updates and by the time they arrived at the airport the aircraft was already waiting, fuelled and ready to depart.
